Twilight is the smile that hovers between day and night. It’s the time when the world slows down and relaxes, the birds serenade us with tranquil tunes, the eastern sky turns a soft blue with touches of pink and the sea becomes calm. Serenity and peace seep into our souls. It’s my favorite time of the day.
For me, life is about threading together simple pleasures like pearls on a string: a poetic morning cup of coffee, a bouquet of fragrant fresh flowers, winsome afternoon teas, flowy dresses, and intimate dinners paired with good friends and fine wines. I love how the amiable aromas from my freshly baked muffins travel throughout the house. And at the end of a long day I can’t wait to snuggle in my warm comfy bed.
I’m happy singing off-key and dancing around the kitchen while I cook. A daily yoga practice keeps me somewhat limber and I enjoy going out for walks, particularly if the latter involves shopping of some kind. Volunteering and giving back to the community are important to me. I love connecting with people and listening to their stories.
My best friend, who also happens to be my Hubby and I live in the outskirts of picturesque Victoria British Columbia, Canada. Having finally left the corporate world behind, we are both happy working out of our home offices.
I’m a freelance writer who likes to write reflective narratives based on true stories. I adopted the pen name of Kate Spencer, a character modeled after me in one of my Hubby’s books. Writing this blog is a hobby; not a job. I write when I’m inspired and when life takes over, and it does, then I take a pause…
I invite you to come and dance through the daisies with me – we all need to do that once in a while. And then join me in the evenings, as we curl up in large russet chairs by my fireplace and reflect upon the things that are good in our lives.
Let’s chat, connect and share.
Thanks for sharing! I always love reading bloggers ‘about’ pages. I absolutely adore dusk too!! My favourite time of day 🙂
